Staff Nurse – NICU (TP)

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Staff Nurse for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to neonates through adolescents, coordinating with families and the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient‑centered care in the NICU, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and other nurses to develop and revise individualized care plans.
• Document all patient information accurately and maintain required supplies and equipment.
• Participate in unit meetings, quality‑improvement projects and mandatory education such as JCIA accreditation requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent) and registration as a Registered Nurse in the home country.
• Minimum two years recent experience working in a NICU setting.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a current nursing license.
• Ability to assess both physical and psychological needs of patients and families.

Required skills

• Pediatric hemodynamics and cardiac monitoring.
• Management of neonatal incubators (Giraffe, Isolette).
• Assistance with neonatal intubation and lumbar puncture procedures.
• Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) dressing changes.
• Administration of Hepatitis B vaccine to newborns.
