Steward

About the role

The Steward will ensure the kitchen environment at NH Collection Ibn Battuta Hotel remains clean, safe and fully operational. This position supports the culinary and service teams by maintaining high hygiene standards throughout all kitchen areas.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans and workstations.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring proper functioning.
• Collect and remove trash and recycling, and manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of buffets or banquets.
• Perform deep‑cleaning tasks such as oven cleaning and grease‑trap maintenance.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to sustain a smooth, hygienic workflow.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant (advantageous).
• Physical fitness to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Positive teamwork attitude and good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing machines.
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
