Store General Manager – Hypermarket

About the role

The Store General Manager leads a hypermarket to achieve both sales growth and operational excellence. Reporting to corporate leadership, the manager balances customer experience, team performance, and efficient back‑store processes to drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop front‑line and back‑store staff to meet performance targets.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, waste reduction, shrinkage control and warehouse‑to‑floor cycle time.
• Ensure on‑time receipt, tagging, stocking and compliance with planogram standards.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain teams to optimise stock levels and minimise inefficiencies.
• Drive sales KPIs such as sales per section, bundling revenue, customer satisfaction and loyalty program sign‑ups.
• Implement loss‑prevention measures and maintain compliance with company policies.
• Analyse performance data, identify improvement opportunities and support business‑growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large retail environments with both sales and back‑store responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation.
