Structural Design Engineer – G+4 Projects

About the role

Designer East is seeking a qualified Structural Design Engineer to lead structural design from concept through authority approval and construction for private villas, palaces and low‑ to mid‑rise buildings in Dubai. The role is hands‑on, requiring you to produce calculations, drawings and site sign‑offs without supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare structural calculations, drawings and technical reports for reinforced concrete and steel structures, including foundations, basements, retaining walls, swimming pools and steel canopies.
• Run analyses in ETABS, SAFE and STAAD Pro and produce AutoCAD and Revit Structure drawings, supporting BIM delivery where required.
• Submit and follow up structural packages with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, Nakheel and other authorities, responding to comments until approval.
• Conduct structural assessments of existing buildings, design strengthening solutions and manage NOC submissions.
• Review contractor shop drawings, bar‑bending schedules and material submittals, issue structural responses and sign off works on site.

Required profile

• Dubai Municipality approved Structural Design Engineer – minimum G+4 category.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, attested for the UAE.
• Member of the Society of Engineers, UAE, with a valid card.
• At least 5 years of structural design experience, including 3 years in the UAE, with a proven record on villas and low‑ to mid‑rise projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit Structure and BIM delivery.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai Building Code 2021, ACI, BS and Eurocode standards.
