Structural Draftsman

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Structural Draftsman to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You will create detailed structural drawings and plans for a variety of construction projects, working closely with structural engineers and architects to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and modify structural drawings using CAD software, primarily AutoCAD and Revit.
• Interpret architectural and engineering designs to produce accurate structural plans.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and building codes.
• Perform calculations and analyze structural components to support design decisions.
• Create detailed drawings of foundations, beams, columns, and connections.
• Review and update existing drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized digital and physical files of all project‑related drawings and documents.
• Assist in preparing material lists and quantity take‑offs for cost estimation.
• Stay updated on local building regulations and industry standards in Dubai and the UAE.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Required profile

• Associate's degree or diploma in Structural Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in structural drafting.
• Proficiency in CAD software, especially AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Understanding of building codes and standards, with specific knowledge of local regulations in Dubai and the UAE.
• Familiarity with various construction materials and methods.
• AutoCAD certification is preferred.

Required skills

• Modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Plant 3D.
• Clash detection software such as Navisworks.
• Strong engineering background in mechanical and electrical fields.
• Knowledge of MEP and HVAC system components.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
