Structural Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Structural Engineer will supervise and inspect structural works related to stormwater, drainage, irrigation, pumping stations, utility structures, retaining structures, culverts, chambers and other infrastructure assets, ensuring compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, quality standards and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect all structural construction activities related to stormwater, drainage, irrigation, pumping stations, culverts, manholes, chambers, utility structures, retaining walls and foundations.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements and the regulations of Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA and other authorities.
• Review and comment on structural shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, temporary works and as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, designers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design discrepancies and site issues.
• Monitor contractor performance, construction sequencing and progress against approved schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits, report non‑conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Support progress meetings, technical workshops, authority inspections and assist the Senior Resident Engineer with claims and variations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven experience with stormwater, drainage, irrigation, utility and road infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, foundations, retaining walls, culverts and pumping station structures.
