Structural Engineer – Steel Pedestrian Bridge

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Steel Structural Engineer to lead the design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of pedestrian bridges in Dubai and the UAE. The role involves overseeing all phases from design review to site execution and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction, refurbishment and rehabilitation of steel pedestrian bridges, including site erection, lifting operations and installation of bridge components.
• Review and approve structural, shop and fabrication drawings, method statements and material submittals, coordinating with consultants, clients, contractors and authorities.
• Monitor steel fabrication processes such as welding, bolting, painting, galvanizing and corrosion protection, ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Conduct structural inspections, condition assessments and prepare technical and progress reports, recommending repair or strengthening solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in steel bridge construction, maintenance or rehabilitation, preferably on pedestrian footbridges in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of international codes (AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes) and UAE regulations.
• UAE driving licence preferred and excellent communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Tekla Structures and AutoCAD.
• Hands‑on experience with steel fabrication, welding, bolting and bridge erection techniques.
