Structural Inspector – Site

About the role

We are seeking a competent and detail‑oriented Structural Inspector to join our supervision team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role ensures that all structural works on site are executed strictly in accordance with approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and relevant authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily site inspections for all structural works, verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure they meet UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Identify deviations, issue Site Observation Reports and Non‑Conformance Reports, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Review and validate inspections of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing and other structural elements.
• Ensure proper documentation, testing records (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests) and calibration certificates are maintained.
• Maintain organized inspection records with photographs, comments and compliance notes while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of structural site inspection experience in the UAE construction industry (consultant experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, authority requirements and relevant international standards.
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements accurately.
• Valid UAE driver’s licence and ability to travel between project sites.
• Physically capable of accessing structural elements in constrained or elevated locations.

Required skills

• Interpretation of IFC and shop drawings for structural works.
• Conducting concrete testing (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests) and steel structural inspections.
• Use of standard inspection tools, digital QA/QC platforms and documentation procedures.
• Technical report writing and preparation of Non‑Conformance and Site Observation reports.
• Photography and visual documentation for inspection records.
