Student Information System Manager (Banner SaaS)

About the role

The Student Information System Manager provides senior functional leadership for the university’s Banner SaaS platform, ensuring that academic policies, research programmes and operational processes are accurately reflected in the system. This role acts as the primary bridge between the Registrar’s Office, IT, academic stakeholders and system vendors, driving continuous improvement in a research‑intensive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end Banner SaaS workstreams from configuration through go‑live, managing milestones, risks and cut‑over readiness.
• Translate academic regulations and Registrar policies into scalable system logic, covering registration, grading, progression, graduation and scholarship eligibility.
• Design and execute business‑driven user acceptance testing, oversee post‑release stabilization and defect triage.
• Develop and deliver role‑based training, change‑enablement communications and online learning resources for faculty and staff.
• Define academic data standards, govern reporting requirements and coordinate integrations with LMS, ERP, CRM and research systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; postgraduate degree preferred.
• 6‑10 years of experience in student systems/registrar operations, with proven leadership of SIS implementations or major upgrades (preferably Ellucian Banner).

Required skills

• Ellucian Banner (SaaS) configuration and administration.
• SIS implementation and integration experience, including API/Ethos concepts.
• Reporting and analytics governance for academic data.
