Superintendent, Construction - Mechanical (Shutdown)

About the role

Penspen is seeking a senior Superintendent to lead all mechanical, piping and equipment overhaul activities during a planned plant shutdown, turnaround or outage in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong leadership on‑site, coordination with multidisciplinary teams and strict adherence to international codes and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise mechanical and piping work throughout the shutdown period.
• Manage contractors, vendors and internal crews to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Monitor compliance with ASME B31.3, API 650, ASME Section IX and other applicable standards.
• Control project budget, progress reporting and quality assurance.
• Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are followed on‑site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 15–20+ years of oil and gas experience, with a focus on mechanical/piping construction, maintenance and major turnarounds.
• Demonstrated experience on large shutdown projects in the UAE, specifically with ADNOC.
• Familiarity with CICPA requirements and international codes.
