Superintendent Fleet Operations – Maritime & Shipping

About the role

The Fleet Superintendent is a senior mariner responsible for the safe, efficient and cost‑effective operation of the company’s fleet of speed boats and pilot boats. Reporting to the Maritime & Shipping Cluster leadership, the role ensures daily readiness, optimal utilization and compliance with all regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee daily utilization and readiness of all fleet units.
• Provide operational and technical support to crews on board speed boats and pilot boats.
• Oversee vessel operations, including voyage planning, cargo handling and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with flag‑state regulations, internal SOPs and AD Ports HSEQ requirements.
• Implement and monitor risk assessments for crew safety and regulatory adherence.
• Manage strategic asset readiness, utilization and technical troubleshooting.
• Coordinate crew recruitment, training, performance evaluation and development.
• Monitor fleet downtime, arrange replacements and supervise maintenance workshops.
• Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments to maintain high performance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in maritime fleet operations or a similar senior maritime role.
• Proven track record in crew management, asset utilization and risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of flag‑state regulations, SOPs and HSEQ standards.
• Ability to make critical decisions affecting multimillion‑dirham assets and human safety.
