Supervisor – Mechanical Systems Commissioning (Offshore & Subsea)

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead mechanical systems commissioning for offshore oil & gas projects, including Wellhead Towers, offshore platforms, subsea pipelines and brownfield modifications. The role ensures safe execution of pre‑commissioning, startup, testing and hand‑over activities in line with project specifications and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical commissioning activities across offshore installations, fabrication yards and brownfield facilities.
• Execute safe mechanical pre‑commissioning, commissioning, equipment start‑up, performance testing and hand‑over to operations.
• Serve as field execution focal point for rotating and static equipment, utility systems and mechanical packages.
• Monitor progress, workforce productivity and report status, risks and technical issues to the Commissioning Engineer or Lead.
• Verify mechanical interfaces between Wellhead Towers and central processing facilities.
• Support commissioning of subsea pipeline and cable developments, including pigging facilities.
• Lead commissioning during shutdown, tie‑in campaigns and equipment replacement projects.
• Promote mechanical integrity, safe startup practices and stop unsafe work when required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience, with at least 5 years in offshore mechanical commissioning and startup.
• Proven experience on offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, jackets, topsides and brownfield facilities.
• Previous experience with PMC/EPC projects; ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
