Support Craft Electrical Technician

About the role

The Support Craft Electrical Technician is responsible for the upkeep and troubleshooting of power and control systems on marine vessels. The role involves using electronic diagnostic tools to ensure reliable operation of Caterpillar marine engines and associated electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective electrical maintenance on power and control systems.
• Diagnose faults using electronic diagnostic equipment and resolve issues on control panels and PLC systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics to identify required spare parts and update maintenance logs.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and provide regular progress updates.
• Collaborate with other departments and support colleagues during maintenance activities.
• Escalate complex problems to supervisors while adhering to HSE policies and mitigating electrical hazards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with marine electrical systems and Caterpillar marine engines.
• Proven ability to work with control panels, PLCs, and electronic diagnostic tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and maintenance documentation.
• Commitment to safety standards and proactive hazard identification.
