Sustainability Intern – Green Building & Carbon Management

About the role

The Sustainability Intern will support a range of sustainability projects at AtkinsRéalis, focusing on research, data management and the preparation of deliverables. The role offers hands‑on exposure to green‑building certification systems, carbon management and energy performance modelling, helping interns apply international sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and gather data related to sustainability assessments.
• Manage and organise project data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Prepare and contribute to project proposals, reports and client deliverables.
• Assist in applying certification frameworks such as LEED, Estidama, Mostadam and WELL.
• Support carbon management and whole‑life carbon assessment activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Atkins and client offices.

Required profile

• Degree in environmental science, architecture, engineering, sustainability or a related field.
• Knowledge of green‑building certification systems (LEED, Estidama, Mostadam, WELL).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to review work for quality.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Flexible, adaptable and self‑motivated with a commitment to sustainable outcomes.
