Sustainability Manager

About the role

Chalhoub Group, a luxury retailer in the Middle East with a Net Zero by 2040 pledge, is looking for a Sustainability Manager in Dubai. The role owns the decarbonization roadmap, leads sustainability governance and reporting, and manages a team of three sustainability professionals. It works closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer and partners with teams across the Group to deliver the ESG strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Own the decarbonization strategy and roadmap across scopes 1, 2 and 3, set science-based interim targets and track progress against the emissions pathway
• Chair the Environmental Taskforce and guide work on circularity and biodiversity, including TNFD alignment
• Co-develop the multi-year ESG strategy with the CSO, lead steering committees and working groups, and brief senior leadership
• Lead the Brand Engagement Program and supplier ESG performance work
• Take end-to-end accountability for the annual Sustainability Report (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD), manage external assurance and oversee ESG ratings, assessments and certifications
• Manage, coach and develop three direct reports covering reporting and advocacy, Planet and Partner programs

Required profile

• 8-10+ years in sustainability, decarbonization, environmental management or a related field
• Track record of Net Zero programs across scopes 1, 2 and 3, with strong command of GHG accounting and reduction roadmaps
• Experience assessing the technical feasibility, cost and impact of decarbonization initiatives
• Proven people leadership experience
• Degree in engineering (environmental, energy, mechanical, electrical, industrial or chemical) preferred; environmental science or sustainability backgrounds with strong technical decarbonization experience also welcome

Required skills

• Sustainability reporting, external assurance and ESG ratings
• Working knowledge of GRI, SASB, TCFD and CSRD
• Stakeholder management and executive communication, engaging business partners and suppliers on ESG performance

Nice to have

• Biodiversity or nature-related experience
• Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager, ISO 14064 Lead Implementer/Verifier, ISO 50001, CMVP, IEMA Practitioner/Full Member or GRI Professional Certification
