Sustaining Engineer - Busbar Design

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a Sustaining Engineer in Dubai to provide immediate response to design-related production issues, manage the Product Lifecycle for Busbar designs and improve Design for Manufacturability. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order product, so each customer order is specifically engineered, leading to higher complexity and variation across the supporting departments. The role suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate cross-functionally improvements to Design for Manufacturability covering safety, quality and efficiency
• Provide design support for issues discovered during production
• Provide design support for supply chain constraints
• Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
• Ensure the quality of ETO design before release to production

Required profile

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design
• 1-3+ years of experience in sheet metal and copper design
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• 3D modeling and 2D drafting
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
