SVP & Head of Credit – Corporate Core (Emiratized)

About the role

The Senior Vice President and Head of Credit – Corporate Core will lead the credit function for corporate clients in Dubai, focusing on Emiratization and high‑quality credit underwriting. Reporting to the Division Head, the role oversees policy compliance, portfolio monitoring and risk assessment across complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all credit applications submitted by the team meet required standards, adhere to prescribed formats and align with turnaround time commitments.
• Monitor the credit portfolio periodically, identify early problem signals and keep deviations from credit policies to a minimum.
• Advise coverage and product teams on risk factors associated with complex or high‑risk transactions and embed mitigating clauses in term sheets.
• Oversee due‑diligence processes for prospective transactions, ensuring emerging risk factors are addressed.
• Provide Credit Committee members with complete information for informed decision‑making and support the Risk department with Central Bank reporting and audit queries.
• Lead a team of analysts, guide transaction analysis, plan future capacity needs and develop staff through cross‑training and talent retention initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of structuring corporate credit transactions and deep‑dive risk analysis.
• Up‑to‑date awareness of developments across various industries and the ability to incorporate them into credit assessments.
• Proven experience drafting underwriting memoranda that capture key terms, liquidity analysis and risk considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor portfolio parameters, convene underwriting meetings and ensure alignment with credit policies.
• Leadership experience in guiding analysts, planning skill‑set requirements and retaining key talent.
