SVP & Head of Restructuring – Quality Assurance

About the role

The position sits within the Corporate Workout area and supports the Head of the team on restructuring, workout, recovery, liquidity, governance and capital controls. It aims to preserve value, safeguard the bank’s interests and optimise short‑term liquidity while protecting legal, regulatory and reputational standing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of distressed and impaired exposures, from early diagnosis through restructuring, settlement, enforcement or exit to maximise risk‑adjusted net recovery.
• Prepare and present credit, settlement and recovery proposals to committees, using NPV, time‑to‑recover and capital impact analyses.
• Manage insolvency, receivership and liquidation matters across UAE, GCC and international jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9, ECL and CBUAE requirements.
• Lead the internal Quality Assurance framework for Credit Risk, defining review coverage, standards and reporting to senior management.
• Own CRD policies, procedures and delegated authorities, deliver reliable MIS, regulatory submissions and drive automation and analytics enhancements.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, FRM, CA or ACA.
• 25 + years of experience in a financial institution, with at least 15 years in credit, risk or restructuring across multiple credit cycles.
