System Architect – Turbofan Propulsion

About the role

The System Architect and Integration defines and maintains the global system architecture of turbofan engines, ensuring technical coherence across all subsystems. This role works within POWERTECH, a centre of excellence for propulsion technologies, to drive performance compliance and integration of complex aerospace and defence platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and support the functional architecture and system breakdown structure to ensure performance compliance of the product (engine, propulsion sub‑system).
• Allocate and manage system‑level requirements.
• Lead trade‑offs between performance, cost, weight, and durability.
• Manage and maintain interface control documents (ICDs, FICDs).
• Ensure architectural consistency throughout development phases and in interface with Product Management, Module Manager, Certification and Safety engineers, Integration & Test teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience within turbofan propulsion, aerospace, or other complex engineered systems.
• Solid understanding of turbofan architectures, test‑plan validation, engine performance and integration constraints.
• Strong knowledge of system engineering, MBSE (SysML, V‑Cycle), functional declination, methodologies and standards.
• Knowledge of certification scheme (CS‑E) and safety principles (FHA, PSSA).
• Exposure to customers, OEMs, authorities and complex environments.
