Tailor – Hotel Uniform & Guest Clothing Specialist

About the role

The Tailor is responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of guest clothing and employee uniforms at the hotel. Working closely with housekeeping and the linen department, the role ensures all garments are repaired, altered, and issued to the highest standards of a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Mend, repair, and alter guest clothing and employee uniforms using hand stitching, adhesive patches, or sewing machines.
• Distribute clean uniforms to staff according to company specifications and record issuance and returns.
• Send damaged items to the appropriate seamstress, housekeeping, or external vendor for repair.
• Document guest requests for laundry, dry‑cleaning, minor repairs, and pressing, and maintain accurate records.
• Inspect uniforms for damage, remove substandard items from circulation, and issue replacements.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Tailor in a UAE 5‑star luxury hotel or comparable laundry environment.
• Proven ability to perform garment alterations, repairs, hemming, patching, and uniform adjustments.
• Knowledge of hotel uniform, linen and fabric handling, including inventory and stock control.
• Ability to operate sewing machines, overlock machines, and other tailoring equipment.
• Basic English communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
