Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax consultant to support businesses in managing their financial records, preparing accounts, ensuring tax compliance, and providing strategic tax advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain full sets of accounting records, including AP, AR, GL, bank transactions, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
• Perform bank, balance‑sheet and general‑ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and produce financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Prepare, review and file VAT, Corporate Tax and other tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Liaise directly with clients to collect financial information, clarify accounting or tax matters, and identify tax‑saving opportunities.
• Support external and tax audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax, preferably within UAE practices.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax regulations and experience handling multiple client accounts.
• Previous experience with a Big 4, audit firm or tax advisory practice is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
