About the role
The Tax Control, Risk and Reporting Analyst will join a regional finance team in Dubai, focusing on strengthening tax controls, improving reporting quality, and managing tax risks across multiple entities. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in tax, audit, and finance who enjoy working with data, controls, and process improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Review tax calculations, returns, reconciliations and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform independent control reviews across tax processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assess the quality, completeness and consistency of tax records and compliance evidence.
- Maintain and update the group’s tax risk register, documenting risks, mitigation plans and ownership.
- Consolidate risk information from regional teams, finance stakeholders and external advisors.
- Track emerging tax legislation, audit developments and potential exposures, preparing risk summaries for senior finance leadership.
- Develop and maintain tax dashboards covering compliance status, audits, risks and key performance indicators.
- Support tax provisioning activities, material tax exposure reporting and coordination of information requests for auditors and tax authorities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Audit, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in tax, audit, accounting, risk or financial reporting.
- Experience with a Big 4 or large international accounting firm is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax and tax accounting.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or progress towards one are advantageous.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience creating and maintaining dashboards and using reporting tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and challenge data when necessary.
