About the role
Own a global tax remit with real strategic influence and gain international exposure across diverse markets and projects. The role is based within a privately owned international group operating in emerging economies, offering a dynamic and fast‑paced environment for a commercially minded tax professional.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all tax matters across the Group’s international operations, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax and other direct and indirect tax obligations.
- Oversee UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance, coordinate tax reporting across multiple jurisdictions and review cross‑border transactions.
- Assess tax implications of intercompany arrangements, financing structures, dividends, royalty payments and permanent establishment exposure.
- Support transfer pricing compliance, documentation reviews and benchmarking exercises.
- Liaise with external tax advisors on returns, opinions, audits and regulatory matters.
- Monitor legislative changes, support tax planning initiatives and advise on efficient structures for investments and growth projects.
- Manage tax audits, disputes and correspondence with tax authorities, ensuring accurate provisions and disclosures in financial reporting.
- Maintain a comprehensive tax compliance calendar, develop policies and provide practical advice to commercial and operational teams.
- Travel regularly to international operating locations, including Africa, Asia‑Pacific and other jurisdictions.
Required profile
- Qualified CA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with Big 4 or multinational group exposure.
- Strong background in international taxation, cross‑border transactions and UAE Corporate Tax/VAT.
- Experience with transfer pricing principles, documentation and international tax treaties.
- Ability to work independently, manage external advisors and maintain commercial focus.
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
