Teaching Assistant - Applied Media (Design and Media Production)

About the role

The Teaching Assistant supports faculty and students in the Computer Information Science labs, preparing equipment, demonstrating tools, and providing up to 10 hours of instructional support each week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely lab support to faculty, staff and students, including setup and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
• Maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules, manuals and logs for all lab equipment.
• Assemble and install new or modified equipment such as servers, workstations, routers and switches.
• Track borrowed equipment, manage consumable inventories and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Demonstrate equipment use during laboratory sessions and assist faculty in developing teaching materials.
• Support students in the design, planning and execution of projects and perform occasional teaching duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (required); Master's degree desirable.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on hardware and software support experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are preferred.
