Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Teaching Assistant at Smart Vision School supports students' learning, wellbeing and safety throughout the school day. During school hours, the TA works closely with teachers to support classroom learning, assist students with diverse needs and help create a nurturing, inclusive environment, in line with KHDA regulations and safeguarding expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities, and provide individual or small-group support to students needing extra help
• Support Students of Determination, ELL learners and students with diverse learning needs; help prepare and organise learning materials
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits, and supervise them during class activities, breaks and school events when required
• Promote positive behaviour and respect, support students' social and emotional wellbeing, and report safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, follow safeguarding and safety policies, and work with teachers, staff and the operations team
• Attend training and meetings where required, and support school events and activities

Required profile

• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Desirable: previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, experience supporting Students of Determination or ELL learners, and experience in UAE schools
• Understanding of child safety and wellbeing responsibilities
