Team Leader - Costing

About the role

Julphar is hiring a Team Leader - Costing in Ras Al Khaimah. The role covers manufacturing costing, standard costing and production variance analysis, and oversees cost control, budgeting, COGS forecasting, financial reporting and manufacturing cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical operations-related expenses against budget, assess variances and their root causes.
• Review and validate production orders, ensuring accurate allocation of raw materials, labour and manufacturing overhead costs.
• Analyse material, labour, yield, scrap and overhead variances, identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions with Production, Supply Chain and Finance.
• Monitor manufacturing performance, prepare variance reports and highlight cost drivers, inefficiencies and savings opportunities.
• Support product costing, including standard costing, cost estimates and cost sheets for new and existing products.
• Lead monthly costing close, production cost allocation and manufacturing account reconciliations.
• Maintain costing methodologies, allocation bases and cost control procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cost deviations and inefficiencies, and support annual budgeting, standard cost updates and COGS forecasting.
• Develop dashboards and reports on profitability and operational performance, and support internal and external audits.
• Participate in ERP and costing system enhancements and ensure compliance with costing policies and internal controls.

Required profile

• Professional certification such as CMA, CIMA or an equivalent is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing costing and financial analysis.
• Solid understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis.
• Leadership experience and strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP ERP systems is preferable.
