Team Leader - Sports

About the role

The Team Leader – Sports will drive sales performance and develop the Store Sales team within GMG’s sports retail division in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to store management, the role ensures operational excellence, commercial results and outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Support achievement of annual store sales targets.
• Maintain appropriate staff coverage and scheduling to deliver high‑level customer service.
• Conduct store operation audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Oversee after‑sales processes, ensuring adherence to repair and return policies.
• Resolve customer complaints and maintain exceptional service standards.
• Implement visual merchandising and brand‑compliant product displays.
• Monitor promotions and pricing for accuracy and alignment with company policies.
• Generate and analyse sales reports to optimise stock performance.
• Submit daily invoices and sales recaps to Finance.
• Execute cash handling, inventory taking and record‑keeping in line with SOPs.
• Maintain loss‑prevention standards and manage inventory movements and discrepancies.
• Ensure store cleanliness and compliance with interior and exterior brand standards.
• Lead the team in following SOPs and store appearance guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail sales leadership or store management.
• Strong understanding of store operations, inventory control and cash handling.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to resolve issues promptly.
• Ability to analyse sales data and provide actionable insights.
• Good organisational skills to manage staffing, scheduling and visual merchandising.
