Tech Lead for Server Development

About the role

ChillBase studio is seeking a Tech Lead to drive the technical direction of its server platform for the OneState social role‑play game. You will design distributed systems, set architectural standards, and mentor a growing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve a microservice‑based server platform, making technical decisions for new services and integrations.
• Define and maintain API contracts using gRPC, Protobuf and REST, and develop the Kafka‑based event‑driven architecture.
• Write and review high‑quality Rust server code, optimise database solutions, and improve Kubernetes/GKE infrastructure.
• Build observability (metrics, tracing, SLOs) and implement authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Break down complex tasks, participate in planning, and guide hiring and mentorship of engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Team Lead, including code reviews, engineering standards, and team growth.
• Deep understanding of existing codebases, ability to identify technical risks and ensure long‑term maintainability.
• Hands‑on experience with AI tools in daily engineering work.
