Tech Lead – Server Development

About the role

ChillBase is seeking a Tech Lead for Server Development to guide the technical direction of its gaming platform. You will design distributed systems, make architectural decisions, and uphold high standards of code quality while mentoring the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve the architecture of a microservice‑based server platform.
• Define and maintain API contracts using gRPC, Protobuf, and REST.
• Develop and manage a Kafka‑driven event architecture with robust delivery guarantees.
• Write, review, and improve Rust server‑side code, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Design database solutions, optimize queries, and handle migrations for MySQL/MariaDB and ClickHouse.
• Enhance infrastructure practices around Kubernetes, GKE, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement observability (metrics, tracing, SLOs) and support authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and collaborate with product, analytics, and web teams.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing with Rust and deep knowledge of its async ecosystem.
• Hands‑on experience designing microservice architectures and event‑driven systems.
• Proven track record as a Tech Lead or Team Lead, including code reviews, engineering standards, and team growth.
• Ability to assess existing codebases, identify technical risks, and make long‑term maintainability decisions.
