Technical Director – Data Centres & Mission Critical (Electrical)

About the role

WSP is expanding its Data Centres & Mission Critical practice across the Middle East and seeks a Technical Director to lead electrical design for hyperscale, colocation and mission‑critical facilities. This senior leadership role will shape technical direction, drive design excellence and support business growth in the UAE and KSA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of hyperscale, colocation and mission‑critical data centre projects.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary Building Services design teams.
• Drive design quality, innovation and technical excellence throughout project delivery.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on mission‑critical infrastructure strategies.
• Support business development, client engagement and major project pursuits.
• Mentor and develop engineers within the Building Services team.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 18+ years of Building Services Engineering experience, with a focus on data centre and mission‑critical projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in a consultancy environment.
• Extensive Middle East experience, understanding of regional client requirements, authority approvals and delivery frameworks.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
