Technical Planner – Lighting for Event Production

About the role

Join BeWunder’s Design & Engineering team in Dubai as a Technical Planner focused on lighting for event production. You will be responsible for translating creative concepts into detailed, buildable lighting solutions and ensuring seamless coordination across all technical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical planning and design of lighting systems from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Create comprehensive 2D and 3D drawing packages using Vectorworks, covering fixture layouts, rigging interfaces, cable routes, power distribution and installation details.
• Develop and maintain lighting documentation, including fixture schedules, equipment specifications, schematics and patching information.
• Perform calculations to determine fixture types, quantities, electrical loads and control architecture.
• Coordinate lighting designs with audio, video and rigging teams, identifying and mitigating design clashes and technical risks.
• Prepare equipment schedules, scopes of work and technical requirements for suppliers and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical planning or engineering of lighting systems for live events.
• Strong ability to interpret creative briefs, venue drawings and production designs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Vectorworks for technical drawing and 3D modeling.
