Technical Product Owner - Airline Engineer, MRO and Digital Aircraft

About the role

Emirates Group IT is looking for a Technical Product Owner (TPO) in Dubai. The TPO is the entry point to several product engineering teams, owns the backlogs covering features, functions, non-functional requirements, BAU, technical debt, spikes and ceremonies, and leads the lifecycle of technology products in the Airline Engineering, MRO and Digital Aircraft domains. The role is leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own story content, acceptance criteria and end-story sign-off across team backlogs, keeping stories ready for future Program Increments and refined with the team
• Capture, refine and prioritise technical debt and non-functional requirements across all sprints, and include BAU, ceremony and spike activities within available capacity
• Contribute to PI demos together with other Product Owners
• Maintain feature quality and integrity, flagging risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog
• Take part in Product Management meetings, especially PI Planning, and define metrics for prioritised work
• Help build a community of Product Owners and contribute to Product Management communities
• Work with teams to capture and consolidate team-driven innovation ideas for the Technical Product Manager community

Required profile

• Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology or another field
• Global Product (CSPO/SAFe/PSPO) training and certification
• 2+ years as a Product Owner/Manager in a team-facing role with a track record of delivering change at pace
• Experience in a Scaled Agile framework across multiple initiatives and about 50+ teams is not essential
• Demonstrated technical or domain expertise, up to date on regulatory changes affecting Emirates Group

Required skills

• Background in Operations Research, Marketing Science, Information Systems, e-Commerce or a mix of certifications and 5+ years of relevant experience
• Well-versed in product management tools for software delivery
• Strong communication with peers, lines and stakeholders
