Technical Safety Engineer - UAE National

About the role

Wood is looking for ambitious and motivated UAE Nationals to join our Oil & Gas engineering team based in Sharjah, UAE. This opportunity is open to fresh graduates and experienced professionals with up to 10 years of experience who are passionate about contributing to the UAE's energy sector while developing a successful long‑term career with Wood.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operations, maintenance, engineering, or project activities within oil and gas facilities.
• Monitor operational performance and contribute to the safe and efficient execution of work.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects, shutdowns, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, documentation, and operational updates.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and HSE standards.
• Contribute to risk assessments, audits, inspections, and safety programs.
• Analyze operational and performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Participate in training, development programs, and knowledge‑sharing activities.
• Support sustainability and innovation initiatives across the business.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline).
• For fresh graduates: 0‑2 years of experience, internship or university project experience within the energy sector is an advantage.
• For experienced candidates: 3‑10 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, or EPC sectors.
• Proven experience in a similar technical safety engineering role.
