Terminal Civil Project Engineer

About the role

Ultimate HR Solutions is hiring a Terminal Civil Project Engineer for a prestigious, well-established organization in the UAE. The role manages civil and structural works for fuel storage terminals and pipeline projects, delivering them safely and to a high standard within approved budgets, timelines and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and review civil and structural drawings, designs, specifications and technical documents.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, and support tendering, technical evaluations, BOQs and contractor assessments.
• Monitor progress, schedules, costs and contractor performance, and supervise civil works such as foundations, storage tanks, drainage, roads, buildings and pipe racks.
• Inspect construction for compliance with approved drawings, quality standards and safety requirements, and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, HSEQ and other engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, work permits, environmental controls and regulations, and coordinate permits, inspections and approvals with authorities.
• Monitor project risks, resolve site issues and report delays or technical concerns to management.
• Review contractor claims, variations and progress reports, and coordinate handover including inspections, defect closure, as-built drawings and final documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil or structural project engineering and site delivery.
• At least 3 years in fuel terminals, oil and gas, ports, pipelines, utilities or similar industrial infrastructure.
• Experience reviewing drawings, BOQs, technical submissions, method statements, inspection plans and project schedules.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, geotechnical works, drainage and earthworks.
• Experience on live industrial sites and coordinating contractors is essential; UAE project experience and familiarity with local authority approvals are preferred.

Required skills

• Civil and structural engineering expertise, project planning, coordination and monitoring, and construction supervision.
• QA/QC, health, safety and environmental compliance, risk assessment and technical reporting.
• AutoCAD, MS Office and project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Good command of English.
