Terminal Operator – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Terminal Operator is responsible for all terminal activities during the shift, including receipt, storage, blending, heater operation, quality control and delivery of oil products. The role ensures safe handling of tankers, accurate product measurement, and compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage product receipt operations from tankers, barges and pipelines, including berthing, sampling, gauging and discharge monitoring.
• Perform product storage tasks such as water draining, tank gauging, sampling, stock variation calculations and quality monitoring.
• Execute value‑addition and blending activities, including stadis addition, pigging/flushing of pipelines and component ratio verification.
• Oversee product loading and delivery to tankers, barges, pipelines and tank trucks.
• Handle tanker operations safely, record timings, witness ullaging, sampling and maintain communication between ship and terminal.
• Ensure safety compliance with ENOC/HTL EHS policies, conduct emergency drills and enforce Permit‑to‑Work systems.
• Monitor IMS documentation, support risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect and maintain storage tanks, equipment, pipelines and utility vehicles.
• Provide feedback on consumables and inventory needs.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or High School qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in oil terminal, refinery or related industry.
• Valid UAE light‑vehicle manual driving licence.
• Knowledge of fire and safety regulations applicable to terminal operations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IMS procedures for terminal operations.
• Familiarity with HTL competency‑based training programs.
• Understanding of fire and safety regulations.
• Experience with computerized systems such as SCADA and terminal automation.
