Test Technician

About the role

The Test Technician provides hands‑on technical support to the Test & Development team for the P‑series engine programmes. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role ensures engines, rigs and test cells are correctly built, instrumented and ready for safe operation, while also supporting activities at the Powertech Italy facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble and rebuild engines and test articles according to drawings and procedures, managing parts, torque and configuration.
• Build and wire test rigs, fit sensors and harnesses, and prepare fuel and fluid systems.
• Assist with data‑acquisition setup, sensor calibration and connection checks.
• Support and operate test runs under engineer direction, monitor parameters and respond to issues.
• Maintain test cells, rigs, tooling and engines, troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical faults.
• Keep the workshop and test facility clean, safe and orderly, and complete all required documentation.

Required profile

• Technical or vocational qualification in mechanical, automotive or aeronautical fields, or a completed apprenticeship.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with engines or mechanical assembly (automotive, motorsport, aviation or marine).
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Practical, safety‑conscious and reliable, with willingness to travel and work flexible hours during test campaigns.
