Testing Engineer - SI

About the role

The Testing Engineer will lead testing and commissioning of substation equipment, including panel testing at factories and sites, and manage annual maintenance contracts. The role involves designing and implementing T&C processes, ensuring safety, and achieving customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Create systems to plan, control, and measure T&C projects both at factory and site.
• Identify and mitigate risks, evaluate drawings, and recommend modifications.
• Support sales and execution teams with tender evaluation and technical proposals.
• Develop execution plans, schedule resources, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants for inspections and sign‑offs.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Record and report budget vs. actual spend, manpower, and rework costs.
• Set targets for team members, evaluate performance, and develop capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience testing protection panels, LCCs, and RTU panels.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems.
• In‑depth understanding of protection relays (overcurrent, differential, distance, etc.) and control schemes.
• Proficiency with testing equipment and handling IEDs, SCADA.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3.
• Working knowledge of standards IEC 61439, IEC 60204, UL 508A, NEC/NFPA 70.
