Ultrasonographer

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a qualified Ultrasonographer to perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental guidelines. You will work closely with radiologists and the medical imaging team to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging services across multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations in OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, vascular, neonatal, musculoskeletal and interventional areas, following safety and quality standards.
• Schedule patients, prioritize critical and emergency cases, and coordinate with radiologists to meet procedural needs.
• Conduct safety checks, maintain a clean work environment, and assist with incident/accident follow‑up and patient complaint resolution.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement, education programs, staff meetings and unit projects.
• Review imaging requests and prior studies before each examination and ensure proper documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound, Sonography, Medical Imaging or Radiography, or an Associate/Diploma with relevant registration.
• Active home‑country registration and a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Minimum two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment and selecting appropriate imaging techniques.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Understanding of radiation safety, magnetic protection and Joint Commission International Accreditation standards.
