Unit Head - Program & Project Management Governance

About the role

ADIB Group is looking for a Unit Head for Program & Project Management Governance, based in Abu Dhabi, for UAE Nationals only. The role leads the governance function within Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management, establishing consistent governance, project assurance, portfolio controls and management reporting across technology programs and projects, while building a capable and sustainable PM Governance team.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and improve the technology project governance framework, policies, standards, templates and decision rights, including stage gates, deliverables, approvals and closure requirements.
• Lead independent project health checks, quality reviews and assurance assessments, and monitor scope, schedule, cost, benefits, risks, issues, change requests and corrective actions.
• Own portfolio dashboards, reporting calendars, KPIs, benefits realization and executive reporting, and act as subject matter lead for governance, assurance and portfolio controls.
• Coordinate governance forums, work with PM Delivery, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Procurement and Business stakeholders, and promote transparent decision-making.
• Develop the PM Governance workforce and FTE plan, manage recruitment, workload, utilization and succession risks, and balance permanent employees, UAE Nationals, contractors and partners.
• Create individual development plans for UAE Nationals, provide learning pathways, mentoring, coaching, job rotations and certifications, and build succession readiness.
• Lead the team, drive PMO maturity, champion ADIB values and support engagement and retention.
• Support Technology Leadership in prioritizing initiatives aligned with strategic objectives and approved investments, and track benefits realization and strategic interdependencies.
• Maintain a single source of truth for portfolio status and a central repository for PMO standards, templates, project history and lessons learned.
