Utilities Engineer – Roads & Bridges Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Utilities Engineer to join the construction supervision team for a major Roads and Bridges project in Dubai. The role focuses on supervising, coordinating and quality‑controlling wet and dry utilities works to ensure compliance with RTA standards and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate utility protection, diversion and reinstatement within RTA road corridors.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and technical proposals for MEP and utility services.
• Manage interface coordination between utilities, civil, structural, roadworks and traffic diversion activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, conduct site inspections and issue NCRs or site instructions.
• Verify testing and commissioning of MEP systems, including pressure testing, flushing and energisation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during live utility works, trenching and tie‑in activities.
• Track long‑lead MEP items, authority approvals and material deliveries to mitigate schedule risks.
• Support project close‑out by obtaining final utility connections, authority clearances and completion certificates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in utility works for major infrastructure projects.
• At least 5 years of experience on RTA projects in Dubai.
• Valid UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple authorities (RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, DU, Dubai Municipality, etc.).
