VAT and Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a professional, detail‑oriented VAT and Tax Accountant to join our finance team in Sharjah, UAE. The role combines tax compliance with broader accounting responsibilities, contributing directly to the financial health and strategic objectives of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file VAT returns in line with UAE regulations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct tax audits and review financial statements to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Manage general accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end closing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather documentation for seamless tax reporting.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise on strategic tax planning.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, incorporating tax implications.
• Provide training and support to junior accountants on VAT compliance and tax accounting practices.
• Develop and maintain tax‑related policies and procedures.
