Vehicle Inspection Technician

About the role

The Vehicle Inspection Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of vehicles on the assigned track, ensuring compliance with police department specifications. The role involves performing emission checks, suspension and brake tests, and documenting findings in the inspection system.

Key responsibilities

• Receive vehicles and verify inspection receipts against registration documents.
• Position vehicles correctly on the inspection track and enter plate numbers into the system.
• Conduct emission testing, shock absorber and brake system evaluations, and assess chassis balance.
• Inspect external appearance, chassis number, body condition, tyres, windshield, and suspension components.
• Enter detailed inspection results, flag defects, and forward final reports for certificate issuance.
• Explain defects or test failures to customers when requested.
• Perform additional checks on public transport vehicles, such as taxi cleanliness, meter functionality, and fire extinguisher availability.
• Prepare and operate inspection equipment and computers at the start of the shift and shut them down at the end.
• Maintain tools, safety gear, and report any equipment issues.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Good communication skills for interacting with supervisors and customers.
• Willingness to provide on‑the‑job training in line with UAE nationalization programs.
