Veterinarian – Wildlife Rescue Centre

About the role

The Veterinarian – Wildlife Rescue Centre provides veterinary care, medical oversight and welfare leadership for all animals at the centre. The role supports rescue, stabilization, treatment, rehabilitation, transfer, release and long‑term management of rescued, confiscated, orphaned and other wildlife.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical veterinary care, including examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries and anesthesia.
• Develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation plans for injured, sick, confiscated, abandoned or orphaned wildlife.
• Monitor patient recovery, adjust plans as needed and ensure humane pain management.
• Support animal transfers, releases and rehoming with veterinary oversight.
• Lead biosecurity, quarantine and disease‑prevention programs and investigate outbreaks.
• Maintain accurate veterinary records, regulatory reporting and health inventories.
• Train and mentor animal‑care staff, technicians and interns on health monitoring and safe handling.
• Collaborate on conservation research, health surveillance and wildlife management initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent recognized in the UAE.
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure and professional practice within the UAE.
• Minimum 5 years of professional veterinary experience, preferably with wildlife, exotic or zoological species.
• Proven experience performing clinical examinations, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia and medical treatment.
