Veterinary Doctor - Exotic Animals & Farm Management

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a full-time Veterinary Doctor in Abu Dhabi who will provide care for exotic animals and manage farm veterinary operations. The role combines clinical work with exotic species, farm animal health monitoring, and leading a farm team.

Key responsibilities

• Exotic animal care: consult, examine, diagnose and treat exotic patients; develop treatment plans and preventive care programmes; perform medical procedures and minor surgery; advise owners on nutrition, husbandry and welfare; keep medical records and coordinate with colleagues on complex cases.
• Farm veterinary management: visit farms regularly, check health and welfare, vaccinate, prevent disease and parasites, manage emergencies, set up preventive protocols, ensure biosecurity and hygiene, and improve animal living conditions.
• Team leadership: lead and supervise the farm team, assign tasks, train staff on handling, feeding and hygiene, monitor performance and keep the farm team in touch with the veterinary hospital.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
• Valid veterinary license or eligibility to obtain it.
• Proven experience in veterinary practice treating exotic animals, including birds, reptiles, small mammals and other non-traditional pets.
• Previous farm veterinary or animal facility management experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff supervision.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
