VFX Artist – 2D Game Animation (Spine 2D)

About the role

Nexus Solutions is seeking a talented VFX Artist with strong Spine 2D experience to join its Nucleo team. You will create polished animations and visual effects that bring characters, symbols, UI elements and gameplay features to life in online slot games.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine Spine 2D animations for characters, symbols, backgrounds and UI components, including idle, anticipation, win and celebration states.
• Design stylised in‑game VFX such as glows, bursts, trails, particles and coin effects, ensuring they reinforce game feel.
• Prepare layered artwork, build texture atlases and optimise meshes and loops for web/mobile performance.
• Collaborate with artists, designers and developers, align motion with technical requirements and iterate based on feedback.
• Maintain clean rigs, meshes, weights and export structures, and troubleshoot integration issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in 2D game animation or VFX, with hands‑on production use of Spine 2D.
• Strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating character, symbol, UI and gameplay animation.
• Solid understanding of timing, anticipation, easing, impact and secondary motion.
• Ability to deliver organised, production‑ready assets with limited supervision.
