Visiting Faculty Open-Rank Positions in Media Communication

About the role

The Department of Media Communication at the American University of Sharjah seeks two full‑time, open‑rank visiting faculty members for the Spring 2027 semester. Appointments are teaching‑focused and may be at the level of Visiting Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver three undergraduate or graduate courses in areas such as advertising, public relations, integrated marketing communication, media production, social media, communication theory, or research methods.
• Design and update course materials that blend theoretical concepts with practical skills.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and student advising.

Required profile

• Doctoral or equivalent terminal degree in media and communication studies or a closely related discipline from an accredited, internationally recognized university.
• Demonstrated ability to teach diverse courses across the department’s curriculum.
• Commitment to supporting students from varied cultural and national backgrounds.
• Experience teaching at undergraduate and, preferably, graduate levels is advantageous.
