VP, ESG Nature Risk

About the role

The Vice President and Head of Climate & Nature Risk will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of FAB's climate and nature risk management framework, ensuring that physical, transition and nature‑related risks are identified, measured and managed across the Group’s portfolios and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and periodically review the Group’s climate and nature risk framework, embedding risk into the overall risk appetite, ICAAP and business strategy.
• Develop and maintain risk measurement tools, including risk scoring, scenario analysis and stress‑testing models, and integrate them into credit and market risk processes.
• Lead nature‑risk initiatives using the TNFD LEAP approach, creating assessment tools and sector heatmaps for biodiversity, water stress and deforestation.
• Collaborate with business units, risk functions, Model Risk Management and Group ESG, as well as regulators and external data vendors, to ensure alignment with CBUAE, ISSB/IFRS S2, NGFS and other international standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in climate and nature risk management within the financial sector.
• Proven ability to lead and develop specialist risk teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and international frameworks such as TNFD, NGFS and UNEP FI Principles for Responsible Banking.
