VP & Head of Operational Risk Advisory & Oversight – Group Technology & Transformation

About the role

The VP & Head of Operational Risk Advisory & Oversight for Group Technology & Transformation (GT&T) is a second‑line defence role within First Abu Dhabi Bank’s Operational Risk Advisory & Oversight function. Reporting to the SVP, the role leads portfolio‑specific risk coverage for technology services, platforms, infrastructure, data analytics, AI‑enabled capabilities and transformation initiatives, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, challenged and governed in line with the Group Operational Risk Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead second‑line Operational Risk Advisory & Oversight coverage for the GT&T portfolio, aligned with Group‑wide risk priorities and the ORA coverage model.
• Act as the primary ORA point of engagement for senior GT&T leadership on technology operations, platforms, infrastructure, data analytics, AI‑enabled capabilities and change initiatives.
• Maintain a risk‑based portfolio coverage plan that reflects technology service criticality, transformation activity, data and analytics priorities, third‑party dependencies and regulatory developments.
• Provide independent challenge over risk identification, assessment, control design, control effectiveness, risk acceptance and remediation, escalating material matters to the SVP.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for technology risk, information risk, technology resilience, data and analytics risk and AI‑related operational risk considerations within ORA.
• Oversee issue escalation, remediation tracking and reporting, ensuring timely identification and governance of material GT&T operational risk issues.
• Lead and develop the assigned AVP and specialist resources, ensuring high‑quality challenge outputs and fostering a strong risk culture.
