Wayfinding Designer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a motivated and creative Wayfinding Designer to join its Dubai studio. You will support high‑profile projects across the Middle East, developing signage and wayfinding solutions that enhance user experience in built environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support the signage and wayfinding team in developing strategies, sign families and design concepts.
• Prepare sign location plans, message schedules, sign type drawings and presentation materials.
• Research, benchmark and analyse user journeys, destinations and wayfinding requirements.
• Develop graphic layouts, typography, pictograms, colour systems and other visual elements for signage.
• Collaborate with architects, landscape designers, graphic designers and other disciplines to coordinate wayfinding requirements.
• Participate in site visits, design reviews and workshops while learning about signage materials, fabrication and implementation.

Required profile

• Genuine enthusiasm for signage and wayfinding design with a desire to build a career in the discipline.
• Curious, proactive and comfortable asking questions and learning from senior designers.
• Strong design sensibility with interest in typography, information design, architecture and the built environment.
• Positive team player able to adapt, take initiative and grow within an expanding team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Rhino.
• Familiarity with Keyshot.
• Revit or other relevant design software (advantage).
