Workshop Planner – Automotive Service

About the role

Al Futtaim Motors – Toyota is seeking an experienced Workshop Planner to manage job allocation and workflow in its Ras Al Khaimah service workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Job Allocation: Assign jobs to technicians based on skillsets and job requirements to optimise workflow.
• Monitor Job Progress: Keep track of the technician planning board and Job Progress Control Board, reporting concerns to the workshop manager.
• Efficiency & Utilisation: Ensure fair distribution of tasks and achieve technician utilisation and efficiency targets.
• FIR Process: Ensure adherence to the Fix It Right (FIR) process to meet performance targets.
• Timely Job Closure: Ensure allocated jobs are completed within the scheduled time and meet quality standards.
• Time Clocking: Maintain precise time clocking and escalate issues when necessary.
• On‑Time Vehicle Delivery: Keep the Service Advisor updated on vehicle progress to guarantee on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Planner in an automobile dealership.
• Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• UAE driving licence advantageous but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Expertise in allocating jobs to technicians based on skill level and job requirements.
• Ability to write detailed technical reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
